Music

My all-time favourite music is the Liebestod from Wagner's Tristan und Isold sung by Jessye Norman with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sir Colin Davis. No matter the mood I am in this recording has the capacity to take me to a place of ecstasy. Mostly, though, I'm into 1970s rock and hooligan post modernism.

The music system consists of a 100 watt per channel Rotel receiver (RX 975) driving VAF DC-X speakers assembled as kits saving some $A300 for less than half a day's work. The inputs include a Rotel CD player (RCD 951), a Luxman cassette deck (K111) and a Pro-Ject turntable and tone arm. The phono cartridge is an Audio Technica moving coil that I have owned for many years and have forgotten the model. The output is boosted by a preamplifier designed and built by a friend.

Currently, the turntable is connected to my PC via a Pro-Ject Phono Box as I digitise the vinyl record collection. Here's a listing in progress of music I own. It was created with Excel, so I imagine you could open the HTML file in Excel if you wanted to search the list. There are some rarities there and I'm willing to share in return for something you have that I might enjoy. That's how I got Ronee Blakely's first album.
